The Phases In Menstruation Cycle & Essential Oil Blends For Each Cycle

Posted by Zongle Therapeutics on

Today we chose to discuss the phases a woman goes through when she's on her period cycle. The twist is you also get to know different blends that you can use in each cycle which will help you glide through each phase easily so let's dig in!

A woman generally goes through 3 phases in her periods. The follicular phase, ovulation phase, and luteal phase. Each phase needs to transition into the other smoothly. The smoother the better, because it's a metric of how healthy your period cycle is, which ultimately signals your hormone and fertility health.

The Phases In Menstruation Cycle & Essential Oil Blends For Each Cycle

  1. PRE-OVULATION: ESSENTIAL OILS FOR THE FOLLICULAR PHASE

Every follicular phase starts with menstruation and ends with ovulation. Estrogen is the dominant hormone during this time and is responsible for the increased energy and focus that most women feel once menstruation is over. Therefore, when Estrogen levels rise, cervical mucus gradually starts to thin. During this phase, you'll feel pretty good, so focusing on essential oils that promote general well-being and hormone balance as your body gears up for ovulation is gonna be a pretty good choice.

Essential Oil Blend for Follicular Phase:

  • 20 Drop Clary Sage.
  • 10 Drops Fennel.
  • 10 Drops of Geranium.
  • 5 Drops Frankincense.
  • 5 Drops Coriander.
  • 2 Drops of Lavender.
  1. THE OVULATION PHASE

In the follicular phase, estrogen remains the dominant hormone. It peaks as ovulation approaches and boosts Testosterone, which can lead to the increase of libido. That's when you experience dull cramps and a little pain on one side of the abdomen.

  1. POST OVULATION: ESSENTIAL OIL BLEND FOR THE LUTEAL PHASE

The luteal phase begins immediately after ovulation and ends just before menstruation. Estrogen reacts quickly and shuts progesterone which is a dominant hormone during the luteal phase.

As a result, you may feel calm and peaceful as the luteal phase begins. Both progesterone and estrogen start to decrease in levels and prepare to enter menstruation. That is when you experience PMS symptoms like bloating, headaches, breast tenderness, low libido, and whatnot! That's the phase when we don't want anyone to mess with us! 😛

Essential Oil Blend for Luteal Phase:

  • 20 Drop Marjoram.
  • 20 Drops Thyme.
  • 10 Drops of Geranium.
  • 3 Drops Frankincense.
  • 2 Drops of Lavender.

PREPARATION:

  • Take a 5 mL roller bottle 1 for each blend.
  • Add drops of essential oils for the respective blend
  • Top off rest with Fractionated Coconut Oil
  • Use on the abdominal area when the respective cycle begins, massaging it gently. You can also use your favorite essential oils in a diffuser and experience the benefits aromatically.

Have you ever tried using Essential Oils during your cycle? If so, what blends worked for you?
