Fried Tempeh & Broccoli With Rice

Hello to all the vegan food lovers in the community!

Today we're recreating Tempeh inspired by vnutrition. Her recipes are so mouthwatering we thought why not give this recipe which is full of plant-based proteins a shot…of course adding our twist of essential oils to see how well it might go.

Fried Tempeh & Broccoli With Rice

And it turned out to be amaaaazing!! If you're craving something healthy, then this dish that's a teriyaki tempeh with broccoli and rice is a must try. The best part is, we're adding our own twist to the teriyaki sauce and so can you. You can even customize it based on your preferences. Like one of our colleagues added a Mexican touch by adding cilantro EO, and another one added oregano and thyme EOs.

You can find all the ingredients above in the illustration and we're putting all the directions right below👇

DIRECTIONS:

  • Cut the tempeh loaf into one inch width each.
  • Then cut each slice into 3 long pieces.
  • Steam these pieces in a steamer basket for 10 minutes.
  • Steam broccoli for 15 minutes too.
  • Prepare marinade now.
  • (Take a bowl, add vegetable broth, soy sauce, onion, and garlic powder)
  • Add tempeh and broccoli into it and marinade for at least 20-30 minutes.
  • Add oil to a skillet and fry them up until crispy brown. It'll take 3 to 5 mins per side.
  • Do broccoli next.
  • Then make teriyaki sauce.
  • (Mix soy sauce, avocado oil, garlic powder, ginger EO, sriracha, apple cider vinegar, corn starch, liquid smoke if you want, and maple syrup for a hint of sweetness)
  • Dip your fried tempeh into the sauce and fry for about 30 seconds until caramelized.
  • Then sprinkle sesame seeds on the top.
  • Serve hot with white rice and crispy broccoli.

Happy Cooking! 😊
